Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing commercial interiors and architectural products division in Dallas, TX. This position focuses on estimating commercial interior projects involving custom banquet seating, upholstery, acoustical solutions, marker boards, window shades, and specialty architectural products.

The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing construction drawings, preparing material takeoffs, calculating project costs, obtaining vendor pricing, and developing accurate estimates for commercial construction or interior finish projects. Experience with architectural products, specialty materials, furniture, or custom fabrication is a plus.

This role will work closely with project managers, sales, design teams, vendors, and manufacturing partners to develop accurate, competitive estimates and support projects from the bidding stage through execution. While the primary focus is estimating, the position will include some project engineering and coordination responsibilities as needed.

We are also incorporating AI and technology into our estimating processes, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who is tech-savvy and interested in improving estimating accuracy and efficiency through new tools and software.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating

  • Obtain and evaluate pricing from vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturing partners.
  • Prepare proposals, bids, and change order estimates.
  • Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, and potential cost impacts before submitting estimates.
  • Estimate projects involving banquet seating, custom upholstery, acoustical products, marker boards, window treatments, and specialty architectural features.
  • Utilize Bluebeam, Excel, estimating software, and other technology to improve estimating accuracy and productivity.
  • Maintain estimating templates, pricing databases, and historical cost information.
  • Explore opportunities to incorporate AI and emerging technologies into estimating and document review processes.

Project Coordination & Engineering Support

  • Coordinate with project managers and internal teams to clarify project scope, specifications, and material requirements.
  • Assist with reviewing submittals, shop drawings, and project documentation.
  • Help coordinate vendor pricing, material availability, procurement details, and project revisions.
  • Review drawing updates and identify potential impacts on project costs and scope.
  • Communicate with vendors, manufacturers, and project stakeholders to resolve pricing and product questions.
  • Support project handoff from estimating to project management to help ensure a smooth transition from bid to execution.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in construction estimating, commercial interiors, architectural products, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, construction plans, specifications, and project documents.
  • Experience preparing material takeoffs, performing quantity calculations, and developing cost estimates.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Basic understanding of construction materials, installation requirements, and trade coordination.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with project managers, vendors, and internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience estimating commercial interior construction, interior finishes, or specialty architectural products.
  • Familiarity with banquet seating, custom upholstery, acoustical treatments, window shades, marker boards, or related products.
  • Experience working with architectural firms, general contractors, interior designers, or commercial construction clients.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu, CAD software, or other construction-related applications.
  • Experience with custom fabrication, furniture, millwork, or design-build projects.
  • Knowledge of SAGE 100 or similar estimating and business management software.
  • Experience using AI tools for estimating, document review, or construction-related applications.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
