Position Summary

We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist II (PCS-II) to support project teams by managing project controls activities including scheduling, estimating, cost control, change management, reporting, and project analytics. This role partners closely with Project Managers and supports one to two projects of varying size and complexity while ensuring project controls processes are executed in accordance with established standards and best practices.

The ideal candidate will have strong Primavera P6 scheduling experience, advanced Excel skills, and a solid background in project controls. Candidates with direct project controls experience will be given preference.

Schedule & Location

Full-time, Hybrid

• Three days per week in the office (Tuesday and Thursday required)
\n
• Candidates must currently reside in the Raleigh, NC area
\n
• Relocation candidates will not be considered
\n

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6.
\n
• Generate recurring project controls reports and analytics by validating project data and distributing reporting metrics.
\n
• Monitor project performance through schedule, cost, and change analysis.
\n
• Track project scope, schedule, and budget changes while administering the change control process.
\n
• Prepare and maintain project cost estimates in collaboration with estimators.
\n
• Support Project Managers with Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development, scheduling, estimating, cash flow reporting, earned value analysis, variance analysis, and critical path analysis.
\n
• Produce project controls documentation and reporting in accordance with established standards and procedures.
\n
• Lead project controls benchmarking and self-assessment initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementation of industry best practices.
\n
• Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with project governance requirements.
\n
• Build and maintain effective relationships with project teams and stakeholders while supporting issue resolution and successful project execution.

Required Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
\n
• Minimum of 2+ years of Primavera P6 scheduling experience.
\n
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
\n
• Direct experience working in a Project Controls environment.
\n
• Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
\n
• Knowledge of project scheduling, estimating, cost management, and change control.
\n
• Experience with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
\n
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
\n
• Preferred Qualifications
\n
• Utility, engineering, construction, or infrastructure project experience.
\n
• Experience performing earned value management (EVM), variance analysis, and critical path analysis.
\n
• Experience developing project cost estimates and cash flow reporting.
\n
• Familiarity with project governance and project management best practices.
\n
• Strong understanding of project controls methodologies and industry standards.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and implement best practices.
\n
