Position Overview

\n

The Project Controls Specialist II is responsible for routine aspects of project control assignments with close supervision. This position will work as part of a team of Project Controls Analysts and Schedulers and is expected to develop skills and gradually work with increased independence.

\n

\n

The individual will perform cost forecasting and reporting for a portfolio of projects ranging from approximately $10K to $1M in annual spend. Responsibilities include comparing monthly actual costs against project baselines, identifying and analyzing variances, and supporting overall project financial performance.

\n

\n

This position will work closely with a more experienced Project Controls Analyst and requires a working knowledge of Excel, strong problem-solving skills, and effective communication and collaboration.

\n

\n

Candidates should have a demonstrated understanding of basic project controls and project management principles.

\n

\n

Required Qualifications

\n

\n
• Associate degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, Engineering, a technical discipline, or equivalent.
\n
• Minimum 2 years of project controls experience.
\n
• In lieu of a degree, minimum 5 years of project controls experience.
\n
• Working knowledge of project management and project controls concepts.
\n
• Experience with scheduling software, financial tools, and spreadsheets.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, Engineering, a technical discipline, or equivalent.
\n
• PMI or AACE certification such as PMP, CAPM, PMI-SP, AACE-CCC, AACE-PSP, AACE-CEP, or AACE-EVP.
\n
• Experience with tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, Business Objects, Passport, Microsoft Office Suite, Prolog, Visio, Access, PowerPlant, Maximo, or PeopleSoft.
\n
